Apply to Jewish Solidarity School – March 2026 cohort — limited places left
We are running the first in-person cohort of Jewish Solidarity School’s programme (formerly ‘Unlearning Zionism’), in March/April 2026. The application form is now open!
Our school is led by academics in the UK who are experts on Zionism, colonialism, genocide, and social justice. We welcome participants on anti-Zionist journeys who may have complex, tense, and emotional attachments to Zionism and Israel. Our first programme is a critical introduction to Zionism, guiding participants through Christian Zionism and British Empire; Jewish political Zionism and settler colonialism; Palestinian and Jewish resistance to Zionism; and exploring post-Zionist futures. We will be generous in listening whilst being firm in our critical interrogation, and we ask participants to be open to the multiple perspectives that may emerge in the room.
The school consists of four fortnightly sessions between March – April 2026. We will send out further details, including session location and timings, to all successful applicants. All sessions will be held in-person. Lunch will be provided at all sessions!
Please apply by February 21st, 23:59pm (UK Time) — limited places left
Who are we looking for?
Jewish people (however identified) interested in engaging more deeply with an anti-Zionist Jewish perspective on the history and effects of Zionism. You should be committed to engaging respectfully with the content and each other, and willing to be challenged. Other than these criteria, applicants will be selected based on how many sessions they can attend, and after this on a first come first serve basis.
Who runs the school?
JSS is run by a group of Jews, some who teach at universities and some who do not. Most of us were raised in British schools and synagogues. We established the Jewish Solidarity School to widen access within our community and beyond to forms of anti-oppressive knowledge that many of us were taught to turn away from. We first came together in October 2023 to try to make sense of the unfolding devastation in Palestine. Through reading foundational Zionist texts and bringing them into conversation with Palestinian commentary we aim to empower Jewish people to make better sense of how large parts of our community have supported what we understand to be settler colonialism, genocide, and apartheid. In doing so, we aim to strengthen Jewish solidarity with the Palestinian liberation movement.
When does the school take place?
Session 1: Sunday 1st March
Session 2: Sunday 15th March
Session 3: Sunday 29th March
Session 4: Sunday 12th April
How do I take part?
First, sign up using this form. We will select the first cohort and email all successful applicants. Then, you will be expected to attend all sessions and engage respectfully and openly with the content, facilitators and other participants.
How much does it cost?
The school will be free to attend. However, we will ask for donations at the end of the school, to enable JSS to continue to organise antizionist political education and expand.
Note: Sessions are every fortnight (2 weeks). Passover is between April 1st – 9th. None of the sessions clash with this period.
